from 2pm on friday, when i left Ios with the ferry, till 7:52am local time in sweden (8:52am in greece), when i arrived with the train in gävle...
it all started when i arrived in athens, 11pm on friday night, got into omonia, and went to the normal hotel we always stay at... where i was told they were full, not a single room free... i was just like "wtf?! its MARCH! IN GREECE!!"... they'd gotten some group that took up the whole hotel... just my luck... lol... i found another hotel 50m down the road tho that was quite good...
the next morning i headed out to the airport around 11:30am after checking outta the hotel, to drop off my bags and shit so i wouldn't have to carry those around the whole day, since my flight was 8:55pm...
i'd made plans with Leto (Luppina) to meet up for a coffee at starbucks in... err shit, i can't remember the name of the area... lol
... basically the metro station between Omonia and Syntagma... starts with a P... lolanyway, i headed back into the city with the metro from the airport 4pm... was meeting at 5pm... i got to starbucks about 4:45pm or so... and i was a bit surprised that starbucks didn't have coke, oh well... lol... the company was better then their coffee... was a pretty interesting meeting with Leto there, she's cool, and not to mention, check her gallery, some pretty good photos there
...that was pretty much the only positive thing for the rest of the trip till i arrived on monday... lol...
i headed back and took the metro abit before 7pm i believe, shouldn't be a problem, the metro goes directly from sytagma to the airport... as it turns out tho, i was wrong... lol...
when i got to the last station before the airport, the lights went out and everybody was instructed to get off the train cause it was the last stop... i was just like WTF?!... turns out i had to wait about 25min before the next train came, by this time it was 8pm, the train left, me on it, thinking i should make it, cause its only like 15min to the airport from that station... again, i was wrong, cause after a few km down the track just, it stopped, and stood there for around 15 min... i was starting to get quite nervous and shit... lol... eventually i got to the airport, with about 20 min left before my flight was leaving, had to run about half a km into the airport from the metro station, pickup my bags (which were damn heavy) and run another half km across the whole airport cause the checkin for my flight was of course right at the other end... lol... when i got to the checking desk, there was probably like 10-15 left till my flight should leave, and i could hardly talk, not to mention breathe, and i was told i could just forget about it, the flight had left already...
so, after this dude just telling me to forget about it and disappear for 5-10 min, and me trying to convince them to drive me out to the plane or whatever cause i wasn't convinced it'd already left, he told me to follow this girl that was working there... she checked when the next flight for stockholm was... next direct flight was on wednesday, but there was a flight via copenhagen to stockholm the next day, on sunday... i was told that i should come back the day after about 2 hours before the flight was leaving to get a cheaper last minute flight cause the current price was 250 euro... i asked about seat availability, and was told thats nothing to worry about, there's no way it'll be full...
so, after spending roughly 13 hours in the airport, over night, i went back to SAS's desk there about 12pm on sunday, and i got told the flight was full, completely, there was even 2 ppl over booked, so 3 ppl would have to miss the flight if i'd have a chance in hell to get a flight... not to mention my budget wasn't the best in the world, and the flight to copenhagen alone would cost 140 euro, and she didn't know how much the flight from copenhagen to stockholm would cost... so i was just like fuck fuck walking around the airport, in a wonderfull mood... and then i thought to check what other flights that were going towards scandinavia, and found a maersk flight for copenhagen aswell, which was leaving about an hour before the other overbooked flight... only the maersk flight was also fully booked, but after some hassle and whatnot, i managed to get a standby ticket 30 min before the flight was leaving... i'd been on the phone with my parents, and my mom had been calling every 10 min almost (parents you know... lol)... but they'd checked trains on the internet from home, cause i had extremely limited access to the internet once the wireless card i'd bought ran out... so by the time i arrived in copenhagen, my parents had called my grandpa who i'm staying with here atm, so he'd gone down and bought a ticket for me that i could pickup in Malmö... i grabbed a train from copenhagen to malmö, and i got some quite cool shots of the sunset and stuff there...
i walked around in the malmö train station for about 6 hours after picking up my ticket, bought some swedish candy and varmkorvar (hot dogs) which were like heaven to eat...
eventually i arrived in gävle the day after, 8am on monday, after jumping trains 6am in stockholm...
i met some relatives and stuff yesterday, thought i would just fucking take it easy... not touch electronics really... lol... also i ran into an old classmate from 3rd grade in a sibylla (fast food, hot dogs, and stuff) shop last night, was kinda weird actually... last thing i expected was to run into someone i know when i walked in there... lol... the hotdog was fucking great eitherway tho
... loland here now i got my wireless router working with my grampa's adsl connection today, which is fucking heaven, even tho its only 512k, but compared to my 64k isdn... i'm in heaven... well, i have 128k isdn as of a few weeks back at home (i'm the only one on Ios with anything faster than 64k isdn... lol)... altho i'm sure i'll leach my aunts 10mBit/s a few times during my 2-3 week stay here... lol... specially since i'm gonna turn in my laptop on warranty for some unlucky issues i've had with it, and that'll take like 1-2 weeks before i get it back, or get a new one back... lol
okay, well... err..... yeah, i think i should leave this journal post at this, before it'll be long as a book... and if you've actually managed to read through the hell of my trip, and the boring writing of my extremely great rant like writing skills that i'm showing off (not) here, congrats!!... and thank you... lol... i would probably cut/edit/delete big parts of this before posting it, if i wasn't to lazy to read through it all, and change stuff... so, fuck it... this is a so called first draft within writing, and i'm gonna leave it like that... lol
